Because of this special day The Children’s Resource Center was able to provide parents training in: Infant-Child CPR, First Aid, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, Car Seat Safety & Smoke Alarm information. Lunch and light snacks were provided for parents with donations from Fuddruckers Restaurant and Geppeto’s of Newton.

Children learned how firefighters with the Hickory and Newton Fire Departments help save lives and were visited by “Pluggie– the fire hydrant”. Thanks to Fire Educators Mabelisse Hernandez and Thomas Raper the children learned safety procedures when preventing and reacting to the threat of a fire. .
